Concrete Pools Northern Beaches

Dealing with a steep site and poor access… Precision planning brings a new inground pool to life at Manly Vale.

Navigating steep access and 50 small steps to transport tools and equipment to the back of the site for a new inground concrete pool required both resilience and meticulous planning.

Stage 2 of this project will include demolishing the existing external stairs and rebuilding a new, user-friendly stairs that will provide safe access from the street to all levels of the property – front to rear. Stage 3 will involve the construction of the new garage at street level.

Stage 1 – Building the inground concrete pool

The first stage of this project involved building a new 6 metre long x 3.4 metre wide inground pool at the rear of the block.

But, access to the rear of the property where the pool was located involved navigating a set of stairs that were in very poor condition and smaller-than-normal steps.

After lugging our tools and equipment up and down the stairs for a few hours, we decided to approach the neighbour and implore them to give us access via their side lane. They must have felt sorry for us because they were only too happy to assist. We rewarded them handsomely with a few bottles of quality wine – a small price to pay for the improved ease of access.

With the pool finished, we could then move onto the stairs.

The first step was to demolish the original stairs. This was completed by an external contractor employed by the builder. To continue access to the site whilst the work was being undertaken, a temporary set of stairs were installed. These will be replaced by the new concrete stairs built by our team.
