Defying the downpour… Completing a suspended concrete slab for a new garage and entertaining terrace in Paddington during torrential rain.

This Eastern Suburbs concreting project got escalated to a last-minute, rush job when the builder was let down by another trade company working on the site. To keep the project progressing, our role was brought forward and, on a very rainy day, we started work.

This project at a home in Paddington involved the addition of a new garage. With limited parking in the area, off-street parking in the Eastern Suburbs is a convenience many homeowners dream of. It also adds significant value.

To take advantage of the narrow block, a large entertaining terrace would be incorporated atop the suspended concrete slab garage roof.

On the day of the concrete pour, the heavens opened and it started pouring! Keen to not have any further hold-ups on this project, we built a temporary tarp roof and got to work. It was all hands on deck and anyone on site who wasn’t working on the concrete pour was enlisted to stop rain from building up and the weight collapsing the structure.

After an energy-charged day, we completed our role on the project. The garage roof was poured and levelled and the access stairs were complete.
