Formwork carpenters are needed for the concrete formwork construction to assemble the formwork moulds made from timber and plywood, in some cases, the formwork can be made using steel or plastic. The work is physically demanding and can be messy at times, consisting of carrying heavy materials all day.

» What is formwork and how does it work?

I used NS Formwork on a project in the city with a number of difficulties. It was a suspended slab that floated above the bulk of an existing building on the corner of 2 narrow laneways, 15 metres above the ground. The team were not put off by the problems of location and design. They were punctual and got the job done to a standard I was very happy with, quickly and efficiently. I would not hesitate to recommend NS Formwork for any project.

Custom Formwork

The formwork can be made into any shape or size which is why you need a skilled crew to install the formwork to make sure that the forms are accurate and the correct sizes and to hold the massive weights involved.

In some cases on a residential suspended house slab, some slabs can weigh up to 150 tonnes between concrete, steel and formwork which is why you need skilled crew for the installation.

Formwork is normally left in place for three to four weeks after the slab is cast to give the concrete time to reach its desired strength, formwork is then stripped and removed from the site, again by a highly skilled crew.
